From Creative Doubter to Caring Painter
At the lower grades of the Waldorf School, I could always be found at the back of the class, often lost in my own world of comic drawings. Those quiet moments gave me the space to discover my creativity, but I was always torn: should I choose a creative path, or go for something in healthcare? In the end, I was accepted into the graphic school in Haarlem, but I decided to pursue a career in healthcare instead.
My journey took me to web design, and eventually to working in care for people with disabilities. It was here, in the residential group, that my creative spark was reignited. I started painting (self-taught) with the residents, which not only benefited them, but also fueled my own desire to create. Since then, painting has become an important part of my life.
